More conflict rises because her sister Lena is one of Sheriff Tolliver’s Detectives. The first novel introduces us to the characters in the small Georgia town of Grant County where a professor is found brutally murdered and defiled in a publish washroom. View all 16 comments. She was a professor at the small college. I’m not a big fan of that style, mostly because I spend the first half of the book thinking I’ve missed something. I have read Karin Slaughters, Will Trent series, and loved it.
I did enjoy the book. If you love reading gritty suspense thrillers, you really must give Karin Slaughter a try. Maybe she’s holding back – there are at least 6 books in this series, I think. Mark Webster is the belladonna specialist. Aside from the fact that Sara did not like other blindsightted cleaning up her messes, if Nelly somehow managed to get down on her knees, it was doubtful she would be able to get back up without considerable assistance. Fighting her attraction to her ex, Sara begins to suspect the rape-murders are tied to her own rape in the Emory parking lot 12 years ago.
Sarah reminds me a little of myself – fiercely independent and more than a little prickly. Her Murder hits very close to home to Sara, who is the town’s Pedia This was not my first book by Slaughter. Keith Ross is a detective in Atlanta. She’s a little late and the lunch crowd is pretty much gone. Make me sad when it’s over–Someone once said that finishing a great book is like saying goodbye to a friend.
If you can stomach the gore, I definitely recommend this one for all thriller fans! This was nominated the Barry Award for Best First Novel and it was certainly good enough to have won it.
