In the past I have been able to use the print function to create a pdf copy of receipts or different types of documents online. But now I get error messages like this: No PDF file produced. In one day about years ago, I do remember installing offendjngcommand huge pack of fonts maybe around that a friend sent me. Any thoughts on how to fix this so I can be able to print to pdf again?
What software do you use to print to PDF? Is Courier still there? Apparently your printer couldn’t find it. I just checked and I have three types of Courier: If it’s a webpage have you tried Chrome’s built-in print to pdf?
I haven’t tried Chrome yet because I didn’t think it would matter which browser I use. Isn’t the process the same though? The Print window will pop up asking which printer I want to print to then I select Adobe and then I get the error.
But please correct me if I missing something.
Make sure the version of Acrobat you’re using has the latest patch. Worst case you may need to uninstall Acrobat, reboot, then reinstall and patch Acrobat, in case something is corrupted in the Adobe PDF driver. You could try a repair first to see if that helps.
Also, having too many fonts will slow down the system as they load at boot time, so trimming them down to what you actually offedingcommand or encounter in documents is a good idea. I’m doing an update right now. I’ll try a repair after that if the problem persists.
As far as trimming down the fonts, I would like to but I have no way of ascertaining which fonts are which.
My gf speaks and types in over ten languages so I might start a war if I delete the wrong fonts. I probably never should have installed that two thousand fonts package folder. But you having a lot of fonts doesn’t really explain that “Error: Let us know if anything changes after you’ve reinstalled Adobe Acrobat. Yeah, I should have checked and phrased that correctly. I would expect that if you selected the Acrobat PDF printer from within Chrome you’d get the same error assuming the problem is in Adobe’s “print” driver and not Acrobat itself but by asking Chrome to natively save it out as PDF should eliminate your system or corrupted font files as the problem if it works.
I finally got around to re-installing Adobe Acrobat. The problem is still there. This is what I was reading weeks ago that made me think the issue is the fonts: Just remove any extra versions of the courier font, so you will only have 1 courier font installed. Then try printing this new file. Patching updating acrobat will have little to do with the issue.
The problem is the rip of the device you are printing to is failing to interpret as it converts it to a bitmap format for the printer.
Distiller invalidfont /courier error – Adobe Acrobat Windows
Doing option 2 should bypass this step with little effort. I just tried this and it did not work. I copied the two extra courier fonts that I had to a folder on my desktop then deleted them from my ‘Font’ folder. But I am still getting this error. There offendingcommznd be some way to fix this Does this happen with all receipts now?
Is it possible for you to go back to another receipt and try to create the PDF? Also does it need to be a PDF. Could you just screen capture the information? This happens with anything that I try to create a pdf with by using the “Print” option. If at all possible, it needs to be a pdf.
print to pdf
Also, I assume by ‘screen capture’ you mean using a program such as Snagit to take a picture of the document. I have Snagit and that is an option but it should be a PDF. Well based on what little you have mentioned.
I would start with your font issues. You might have corrupted something by adding the “ton” of fonts to your system. First thing would be to remove all of them except the base set of fonts which come with windows.
Screen capture or print screen is built in with windows.
Acrobat Distiller problems!!
Print screen it’s a button on the keyboard or a combo of keys. Anyhow press it then open up paint and paste. Or you can use a utility like you mentioned to make it more easier. At least knowing how to do this gives you an alternative to PDF and nothing. Good luck and don’t mess around with fonts!
How do I know which fonts are the base fonts for Windows? I installed those extra fonts over a year ago. Hmm, there are a number of options in that link you posted. I’m not quite sure which one to follow. Any at rate, there are two other issues so far that can I see. If I uninstall all fonts on my computer and then re-download the default ones what happens to the language fonts that I use now? My attempt at answering my own question: The languages on my computer have nothing to do with uninstalling fonts.
After re-installing the default fonts, only English will be in the language bar.
I will have to add all the other languages back again manually. For number two, I have no idea how to answer my own question regarding how this will affect all the programs I already have on my computer. From what I understand, uninstalling fonts associated with a program such as with Adobe applications and Word applications can cause very serious problems on a computer.
So, my questions are: Ars Tribunus Angusticlavius et Subscriptor. Ars Legatus Legionis et Subscriptor.
