Such an approach has been seen before but never done as well. Follow this link for more detailed information on Yusupov’s award-winning training course. After going twice through the study plan you’ll benefit a lot by going through this book. I think that it is the wrong approach in a positional exercise to think that you failed to solve it but the solution was flawed because a computer engine thinks other moves are equal.
The answer is that Yusupov offers the rare combination of tremendous chess knowledge and the ability and desire to share it. This new understanding is then tested by a series of puzzles. Many moves are reasonable.

I have Pachmans books and think the material is great but I have found that, particularly in the first book, the material is quite basic which has caused me to skip some topicsbut I am enjoying the second and third books. I have the build-up series. It sounds very similar to the ICS international chess school program, only you can do it on your own accord. You are supposed to read it by colors, yes, so ‘beyond the basics’ is easier than mastery, but harder than ‘the fundamentals’.

Back in he was ranked third in the world and narrowly missed defeating Anatoly Karpov when the latter was still near the peak of his legendary powers. I don’t know why people always think books are expensive The Fundamentals by Artur Yusupov. I guess so, but for all of the books it is still a lot, particularly if I end up not using them. They are a tough series of books to work through I like it more when I can trust the author has pondered all the options and acknowledges that his move may be the ‘subjective best’.

He has won everything there is to win in chess except for the World Championship. This series is perfect for such an individual.
