I appreciated his recipes and recommendation to add certain foods to your diet to increase your athletic endurance and overall health. Whilst I can imagine this being a primer for some I do think the message is easier after having read a li A great book for those serious about eating for optimal performance. I think this is my most fave of all my vegan books that are really designed for athlete’s.

Simpler amino acids from plant sources like spirulina, hemp, chlorella and lentils produce a much lighter load on the body and can speed recovery. Eating all the bread at restaurants before the meal totally resonates with me – that was the hook that got me in. However, I wanted to learn more of what to eat regarding training. I am also already making other changes to my diet, making sure I get enough of certain nutrients–not just the obvious B vitamins that vegetarian I cannot say enough great things about this book. It doesn’t exactly outright tell you to stop eating meat, but it provides brensan as to why a vegan diet is much better.

I read the book and went -mostly raw- vegan overnight. I totally agree with Mr Brazier about the only realistic ways to eat being ones where you eat healthy food but don’t go crazy counting calories of macronutrients. That would at least have been interesting to read instead of all this pseudo-science that he puts in here. He helped create the Wolverine diet, which Jackman stuck to whenever he wanted to get ripped.

I would like to see his perspective as legitimate, but I think this shoddy piece of writing does not help his cause. Brazier includes useful and practical information as well as a number of recipes for food to fuel workouts and recovery.

I would like to see his perspective as legitimate, but I think this shoddy piece of writing does not help hi While I generally like the theory Brazier presents, and I think he has a wealth of brazief based on his own experiences of high intensity training on a whole food diet, this book is bgazier poorly written.
I saw this book recommended on a number of sites, so I decided to pick it up at the library, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Anyway, I would, despite the 3 stars, recommend this book to anyone interested in veganism, especially vis-a-vis athleticism.

But he does suggest a number of different foods which I don’t currently consume, and I’m interested to see if they have any effect.
The meal plans are ridiculously lengthy and take lots of prep, which is rewarding because they really are fantastic but I wouldnt recommend this for brszier busy lifestyle starting out on a whole foods diet.
