Alfred Jarry () threw down his challenge to literature, permanently altering its with whom he merges in the book’s–and the Supermale’s–final climax. I first read Alfred Jarry’s The Supermale in French many years ago, a part of a massive Gallimand paperback collection of all of Jarry’s work.

Jun 02, Rupert Owen rated it it was amazing. Insomma, divertente, scoppiettante e genialmente amaramente profondo. I had forgotten the sheer lewdness and bawdiness of the book, including its climax, all puns intended, what with the marathon sex scene, 82 goes and all.
This approach to creative writing reminded me of reading Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange in that the vocabulary of the author is given meaning by the context of the action. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Love being something beyond infinite and ungraspable – a shadow.
